Episode 12: We Love Melons

Episode 12 houses a special place in our hearts. With our lovely guest and forever bestie, Melon, on the show, we have a nice time chillin' in our new office space (Ezrah's car) and discussing finals week. Sit back, relax, study hard (or don't), and enjoy the vibe.

This week we interviewed our psychology and women's, gender, and sexuality studies professor, Dr. Kala Melchiori, who taught us about the psychology of women and gender and attended the Chicago conference with Ezrah. She gives the inside scoop on what it's like living in the city as a graduate student (while pregnant too, whew!) and as a professor who is not afraid to start a committee to fight injustice. She's changing the world, and we want to join her.  

Episode 10: Suit Up! (Does Anyone Know How to Tie a Tie?)

CHICAGOOOO! CHICAGOOOO! Ezrah travels to the windy city with his research lab to present a study at the Midwestern Psychological Association conference. Sadly Ming could not fit in a carry-on bag (no way was Ezrah paying for another checked bag), so he had to stay with the pets. In this special episode, Ezrah gives a rundown of a few presentations he listened to during his trip.

Episode 9: Call Her Doctor

Guest Alert! Ezrah decided to be bold and invite his biopsychology professor, Dr. Melanie Shoup-Knox, onto the show. In episode 9, we talk about how Dr. Shoup-Knox works as an ally by maintaining an inclusive environment in her curriculum for students and in her home with her family. We also discuss her super extraordinary research (that Ezrah will soon be joining...), but you'll have to listen to find out more!!

In episode 8, we talk about all the good shit that has been happening to us and how we have been able to thrive recently. We've been on our homework, research, work, podcast, and fun-with-friends GRIND—time to sit outside and bask in all our glory... and make a quick phone call.

In episode 7 we take a breather to see where the homies are at. Between creating connections, having microphone issues (and having to purchase new microphones), and the arrival of our business cards, we've been busy boys. Sometimes you just gotta see what's new outside of the chaos. Happy Monday!

NOTE: Sadly, spring break means the studio we use on campus to record will be closed this week, so no episode next Monday! Catch up with us on the 28th! In the meantime, we will be sleeping for the next 168 hours.

Episode 5: Let Us Exist in Peace

Episode 5 covers recent transgender legislation, well, at least what we can understand from it. With Florida and Texas riding into their transphobic sunset together, we look into what our home state of Virginia has against the trans community (spoiler alert: there are currently four anti-trans bills in committee) and how we can help the public stay informed.
